The JournalI'm introducing a new feature of our website on this page. This will include some of my journal thoughts that come from my morning time of devotion with the Lord. The Lord has been speaking to my heart and I have been journaling my thoughts down on paper, so I wanted to pass on the blessings to you. I pray that God will bless you and use these words to edify the body of Christ. Yours in Christ's love, Pastor Michael Frantz Proverbs 3:3, 4 3 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, 4 And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man. NKJV Jesus said, ''Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy'' (Matt5:7) and we know that Jesus is the ''truth'' (John 14:6). We can set out to being merciful and truthful as God wants us to, but we must recognize the potential for these character qualities to forsake us. We may be inspired to be and live by mercy and truth for a moment, but during trials, testing or temptation they can forsake us and our character takes on a more condemnatory and lying nature. The answer is to bind them around our neck, and write them on the tablet of our heart. There is an ugency to these commands. The consequences of disobedience to these commands is implied by looking at the rewards for obedience, i.e., favor and high esteem with God and man. Therefore, the consequences of disobedience is disfavor with God and man, as well as a low estimation from the same. Here's some things to consider from this passage. 1. The Value of Mercy and Truth 2. The Risk of Mercy and Truth 3. The Command of Mercy and Truth b. Write them on the tablet of your heart (see 2 Cor3:3) 4. The Reward of Mercy and Truth high esteem with God and man 5. The Source of Mercy and Truth a. God is a never ending source b. Titus 3:5; Eph2:4 c. John 14:6--Jesus Christ is a never ending source of truth |
